Words left by travellers who've warmed their hands at the hearth.
"I do the Hearthside Reels most evenings — maybe five minutes. It's a nice way to wind down without spending anything."
"Tried plenty of 'free' casino sites and got hit with payment screens fast. Aveyron Chalet hasn't asked me for a penny in three months."
"Summit Drop is genuinely tense for a free game. Not a long-session thing, but great for a quick break."
"The scratch card is the simplest one but I keep coming back to it. Ember the fox is a nice touch."
Five travellers who built the Chalet from scratch.
Clara built her first card game at university and spent a decade in mobile gaming before co-founding the studio in 2021. She sets the tone: fun that costs nothing and respects everyone.
Dmitri grew up playing board games in Saint Petersburg and still designs with pen and paper first. He tuned every bounce in Summit Drop by hand before a single line of code was written.
Priya handles the visual language of every product — palette, mascot, icons, the lot. Ember the fox went through eleven sketches before she was happy. Worth it.
Tom keeps every game smooth across devices. If a scratch card feels satisfying on a three-year-old phone, that's his doing.
Jess runs player support and maintains our responsible-play resources. She reads every support message personally and writes the studio's quarterly fair-play review.
No coin has ever left the Chalet. Here is why.
Every new arrival at the Chalet is handed a fresh stash of 5,000 Embers. No card needed — Ember the fox deals them out at the door, same as always.
Embers are virtual coins. No real money is ever required, deposited, or withdrawn. They cannot be exchanged for anything tangible. They exist only to keep the wheels turning.
Run dry? Refresh the page and Ember tops you up at the door again — 5,000 Embers, no questions asked. There is no monetisation loop here, just the fire and the reels.
High in the Aveyron Peaks sits the Chalet — a legendary stone lodge where wanderers gather after long trails. The innkeeper keeps three spinning wheels above the fireplace, each carved from mountain cedar.
Locals say the wheels remember every traveller who has ever turned them. Coins earned here are called Embers — warm, weightless, and worth only the glow they bring.
Two machines. One balance. All Embers, always free.
Three cedar reels spin above the fireplace. Line up the lodge symbols and watch your Embers stack.
Hearthside Reels is the heart of the Chalet — three carved cedar reels mounted above the crackling fire, each face etched with symbols from the mountain trail. A round feels like pulling a worn brass lever and watching the lodge come alive. It ties directly into Ember's world: the Fox Paw is wild because Ember himself put his mark on the wood.
Place your stake using the controls below — minimum 10 Embers, up to 100. Each spin deducts your bet and turns all three reels. Match three identical symbols on the centre row to win between 20 and 600 Embers (scaled to your stake). The Fox Paw stands in for any symbol. Three Flames pay the top prize.
Win up to: 600 Embers
Drop a puck from the peak and watch it bounce down the lodge board. Where it lands is anyone's guess.
Summit Drop is a wooden pegboard nailed to the back wall of the Chalet — shaped like the mountain itself. The pegs are carved from pine, and the multiplier slots at the bottom glow like the embers in the hearth. Dmitri tuned each bounce by hand; the physics are simple but the tension on the final row is real.
Choose your stake (minimum 15 Embers, up to 150), then drop the puck from the peak. It travels through 7 rows of pegs via a weighted random path, landing in one of seven multiplier slots: 20×, 5×, 2×, 1×, 2×, 5×, or 20×. Your payout is your bet multiplied by the slot value. Edge slots are rare but pay big.
Win up to: 3,000 Embers
Aveyron Chalet is built around joyful, pressure-free entertainment for adults aged 18 and over in the United Kingdom. Every game — Hearthside Reels and Summit Drop — runs entirely on virtual Embers. There is no financial stake, no real money at risk, and no pathway to any real-world reward.
Embers cannot be exchanged for cash, gift cards, or prizes of any kind. Even though the games use the language and mechanics of classic casino play, there is no gambling taking place. The studio strongly advocates responsible play habits: treat sessions as you would any leisure activity — bounded by time, not chased as a source of income.
If playing ever stops feeling like the entertainment it is — or if it begins to crowd out daily life — please take a step back. Professional support services are available in the United Kingdom. For guidance, the National Gambling Helpline, GamCare, and BeGambleAware offer free and confidential help. Visit our Responsible Play page for full details.
